Heritage Station broadcasting from northwest Alabama in what is known as "the Muscle Shoals area". WZZA launched on July 4th 1972 by Bob Carl and Odessa Bailey. Today station operations are overseen by Mrs. Odessa Bailey as station manager, and her daughter Tori as general manager. WZZA has operated continuously since 1972, providing the best in soul and gospel music (current and retro) with live and responsive radio announcers. The station features a daily talk show, news and public affairs, community events, contests, and much more. Since 1972, WZZA has served as the voice for the urban market in the Shoals.
WZZA Radio, also known as The Soul of the Shoals, is a radio station serving the Shoals area. The station has a history of supporting community events and figures, including fundraising and organizing for Jesse Jackson's presidential campaigns in the 1980s. WZZA is partnering with meteorologist River Zurinsky to provide real-time severe weather coverage for listeners in northwest Alabama, West Mississippi, and southern Tennessee.
