Radio Contact was a bilingual radio station that began broadcasting on February 9, 1980, with non-stop music. Its first presented broadcast day was on March 1, 1980, featuring a 70-30 ratio of French to Dutch programming. The station aimed to offer an alternative to BRT through free competition, playing varied hit music around the clock. In November 1981, a Dutch-language version, Radio Contact 2, was established on a new frequency.
