According to a report from the National Endowment for the Arts, a 2015 survey of 140,000 graduates, conducted by the Strategic National Arts Alumni Project (SNAAP), found that half of arts graduates made over 60 percent of their income from their artistic practice alone. In 2003, Pew Research Center found that only 7 percent of artists earn all their income from their art.
