KBOO is a community radio station that was founded in 1968. We strive to provide a brave space for de-colonization on the air. We are volunteer driven and member supported, nearly 500 volunteers help ensure that KBOO is on the air 24/7/365. Members contribute close to 90% of our annual budget each year.
KBOO Community Radio serves Portland and beyond, offering a diverse range of programming including interviews, talk radio, and music across various genres. The station features special programming seasons like "Radio Ahead" and hosts shows such as "The Old Mole Variety Hour," "Portland Jewish Hour," and "Comics Take on the News." KBOO also provides a community resource directory and encourages listener involvement through volunteering and donations.
