We promote local musicians. We have this storied tradition in St. Louis of great jazz musicians, and universities with excellent jazz programs, like SIUE, has continued that tradition by developing the next generation of great players.
The Sound serves Southwestern Illinois and Greater St. Louis, not only delivering a rich blend of jazz, smooth jazz, blues and R&B, but also SIUE sports and specialty programming – including three radio shows Voices, Financial Café, and Segue for a widely diverse listenership. It strives to broaden the visibility of SIUE while enhancing its image as an essential regional resource.
