3HA serve one of the wealthiest agricultural districts of Australia. As well, the region has a strong beef industry and broad acre farming sector. Manufacturing, construction and heavy industry includes the Portland Smelter, the Iluka mineral sand mine at Balmoral and the mineral separator plant in Hamilton, all of which are significant employers in the region. 3HA Started broadcasting from a large building on the corner of Gray and Kennedy St, Hamilton, the building actually included its own theatrette. 3HA remained in that location until 1975 when a fire ripped through the building and destroyed it. 3HA moved to its present location in Brown St Hamilton in 1976 and underwent extensive renovations in 2002.
